The Western Upstate MLS released their market report for January this week. The trend for 2015 looks to include more sales as well as rising prices, although the organization was quick to point out that it will not be at a "headline-grabbing" rate. Over the last 12 months (Feb 2014-Jan 2015), median sales price in the upstate rose 2.3% to $138,000. In January alone, the median sales price rose a whopping 13.8% to $145,700.

In the city of Anderson, January brought 160 new listings and 68 closed sales. The median sales price on those sales was $149,750, up from $125,250 in January 2014. The average days on market for homes sold in January was 99 days.
Ninety-seven new listings on Lake Hartwell hit the market in January, and 22 lakefront properties sold. Median sales price on Lake Hartwell was $207,500 after spending an average of 125 days on the market.
For Lake Keowee property owners, there were 60 new listings and 16 closed sales last month. The median sales price was $432,500 and an average days on market of 216 days.
