Anderson SC is alive with the excitement of the holidays!
Anderson Lights of Hope showcases 3.5 million Christmas lights each night between Thanksgiving and Christmas at Darwin Wright Park from 5:30-11:00 p.m. After paying a small entrance fee, visitors can drive through and enjoy the beautiful light displays. At the end of your journey, be sure to explore Santa Village. Santa and his elves are awaiting your arrival! Proceeds from Anderson Lights of Hope benefit several charities around the Anderson and Clemson areas.
The annual Tree Lighting and Downtown Holiday Open House take place on the Courthouse Plaza in Downtown Anderson on Friday, Dec. 5 at 6:00 p.m. Many local businesses will be open late for you to do some holiday shopping!
Also on Friday, the Anderson Arts Center will host their annual Christmas Gala. The party starts at 7:00 p.m. at the Arts Center.
The Holiday Market at the Anderson Farmer's Market is a great place to do some holiday shopping each Saturday in December. Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Warm your belly this holiday on December 6 at St. Nick's Chili Fix at the Carolina Wren Park Overlook. Are you a great cook? Sign up to enter as an ICS contender for this World Championship qualifying event. Or join the fun in the people's choice category and earn bragging rights in the Upstate! The cookoff takes place from 10:30-5:00 at the Carolina Wren Park Overlook. Tickets can be purchased for tastings - $5 for 8 tastings or $15 for unlimited. The proceeds benefit Meals on Wheels of Anderson.
Want something a littler cooler for the holiday? Check out the falling snow and light display at Carolina Wren Park. Beginning December 6 and continuing each Friday and Saturday through December 20, snow will be falling on the park from 6:00-6:45 p.m.
Sunday, December 7, brings the Downtown Anderson Christmas Parade! Grab your family and head to your favorite viewing spot to watch the parade go marching by as it travels along Main Street from Greenville St. to River St. The parade begins at 3:00 p.m.
Start a holiday tradition with your family on December 9 at 6:00 by watching The Polar Express movie under the stars at Carolina Wren Park. Coolers are allowed, but NO glass and NO alcohol. Light concessions will be available for sale. Come in your pj's, bring your blanket and enjoy the show!
